Reimagining Cyber-Systems: Agile and Adaptive

Our research addresses the need for flexible, adaptable industrial systems, tackling inefficiencies in complex system development. COVID-19 highlighted these challenges, as industries struggled to rapidly shift production.

By integrating three innovative approaches—software productlines, model-based development, and DevOps—we enhance communication, enable early testing, and streamline processes—reducing development time and costs while boosting system quality and adaptability. This work supports Swedish industry by reducing resource consumption, aligning with SDGs 8, 9, and 12, and making companies more competitive. Our solution currently stands at TRL 6, with some model-based components at TRL 9 and already commercialized by Arcticus and HCL. Collaborating with Volvo and other partners, we aim to reach TRL 7 by March 2025, with a prototype demonstration in an operational environment, readying it for broader commercial and societal impact.

About IVA’s 100 List

IVA’s annual 100 List pulls together a wide range of research projects from Swedish higher education institutions on topical themes. The selection process picks out the projects that are deemed to offer the greatest potential to create value through commercialisation, business and method development or societal impact. All the participating researchers are interested in closer contact with the business community for the application and continued development of their projects.
