Saveggy - Plant-based protection to keep fruits and vegetables fresh longer

45% of fruit and vegetables go to waste every year. Currently, plastic packaging is used to extend the shelf life of fruit and vegetables.

Cucumber with and without saveggy

Saveggy has developed an edible plant-based protection for fruits and vegetables to reduce food waste and replace plastic packaging. We are supported by Lidl, EIP (Jordbruksverket), Eurostars, Sten K Johnsons Stiftelse, Krinova, Ideon Innovation & SmiLe Incubator. We are on a mission helping the world waste less. The pilot launch of the first protection for cucumber was conducted in 2024 with Lidl and we are in process of the high scale launch.
