Your Application to IVA’s 100-List 2024 – Step by Step
Does your research project align with the theme for IVA’s 100-list? Read about how to apply, the questions we ask about your research, and what happens after you submit your application.

- Ensure Research Alignment: Make sure your research meets the criteria for this year’s theme innovation through interdisciplinarity.

- Innovation Support: Your institution’s innovation support can provide guidance.
- Start Your Application: Log in to awardsplatform.com and select “Start Submission.” The homepage provides clear instructions for creating an account or logging in if you’ve used AwardForce before.
- Choose a Category: Select the relevant field or application area and provide a name for your research/application.
- Answer Questions: Each question in the form specifies what information we’re seeking. Additional guidance is available under the “More Information” tab in the portal.
- Confirmation for R2B Summit: You’ll need to confirm that your research can be represented at R2B Summit.
- Supplement Your Application: If desired, you can include supplementary materials such as videos or images.
- Save Your Progress: Remember to save your application if you don’t complete it all at once. You can log out and return to edit or add information until you’re ready to submit.
- Submission Deadline: Submit your application by August 15th, 23:59 2024.
What Happens Next?
- Review Process: All submitted applications are reviewed by a designated evaluation group to ensure they align with the relevant field and meet the criteria.
- Selection Committee: A special selection committee evaluates complete applications and provides their assessments to R2B’s steering group. The steering group makes the final decision on which research projects will be featured on the 100-list.
- Quality Assurance: A preparation group ensures the quality of the selection process at every stage.
- Announcement: Selected research projects are announced in mid-October. Researchers are asked to confirm their participation and may supplement their submission with images or an edited pitch for publication.
- IVA’s 100-List 2024: The list will be publicly released in November.
Brief Overview of Application Questions
Your Research
- Provide both a very brief and a slightly longer description of your research, addressing selection criteria.
- Craft a “sales pitch” for your research (maximum 500 characters).
- Describe your research (maximum 1200 characters).
- Explain the potential impact on users, companies, and society (maximum 700 characters).
- Assess your capacity (or your team’s) for implementation (maximum 500 characters).
- Consider the timeliness and maturity of your research idea and results in relation to the market (maximum 500 characters).
- Highlight uniqueness, novelty, and innovation (maximum 500 characters).
- Address sustainability and alignment with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (maximum 500 characters).
- Provide evidence of the research’s scientific quality.
- Describe practical steps for realizing the research’s benefits.
Research Rights and Representation:
- Discuss intellectual property management and other knowledge-based assets.
- Optional: Share business models and strategies to strengthen your application.
- Confirm that you have the right to represent the research and understand confidentiality considerations.
